German Zimmerstutzen Target Rifle by "Gg Gühring (of) Garmisch"
Caliber 4mm rim fire. This is a Stegele System rifle with a 25 1/2" long octagon barrel having a true bore 7" long in good condition.
The action is cocked by an under lever and double set-trigger are provided. The action floral scroll engraved with oval vignettes on each side having the heads of game animals.
The under lever has the original owner's monogram in gold. The walnut stocks have a large checkering for a right-handed shooter and a semi-Swiss buttplate. The stocks are carved high relief, the right side with floral scrolls and a gryphon, its left side with crossed rifles and floral scrollwork.
No sights are present. The barrel has a plum patina with tarnished silver bands at muzzle and breech.
