.63 caliber, 25 3/8-inch octagonal swamped barrel, with deep rifling; open sporting sights, the front sight a steel bead on blade dovetailed at muzzle; top of barrel handsomely inscribed "F. PETER*A*POTSDAM" with scroll terminals; finely relief carved walnut stock with brass mounts, faceted to match beveled lockplate; horn fore-end; hickory ramrod with horn tip.
Double set trigger; pierced brass sideplate. Ballscrew within sliding wood patchbox.
