PERCUSSION HUNTING-TARGET RIFLE – Pforzheim around 1840/50

Wonderful percussion rifle for hunting and target shooting. Rifled barrel in calibre 16 mm, first-class inside and outside, edged Damascus steel, gunsmith’s signature “C. Rehm in Pforzheim” around 1840/50. Barrel’s end blade engraved with naked virgin and swan as well as the crowned monogram of the former owner “DM”.

Adjustable stretcher. Walnut half-stock with fore-end made from black horn and two large carrying bales. Sights blued with half tunnel fore-sight and adjustable rear-sight for different ranges. Base for dioptre on the barrel’s end blade.

Wooden ramrod with conical setting head of black horn.

ELG mark applied to the side of the barrel.
