During
this year the production of the "byf 42" is estimated at 262,000 of which the
last 4000 were delivered to Portugal.
They do
not bear any distinctive markings compared to a copy delivered to the German
army; the only distinguishing feature is their serial number with the suffix
letter "m" (see Axis Pistols by Jan C. Still, pg 7).
