GRIVOLAT père & fils

Here is a very nice French Grivolat 2 Barrel Centerfire Pistol in which chambers the 455.

Unfortunately the bores were reamed out to use some kind of shotgun shell, but that doesn't take away for the beauty of the gun. It is missing the butt-plate at the bottom of the grips, but otherwise is in wonderful shape.

On the bottom of the barrels is stamped Grivolat and some other marks I cannot read. The barrels are 17.15 cm long, and overall it is 28 cm long.

There was a gunmaker GRIVOLAT (Father & Son) in St. Etienne which are reported in 1900 as "Fabricants». They got a silver medal for their products in Paris between 1889 and 1900. So says the "Qui est Qui de l'Arme en France".

As I imagine to know this type of pistol was very highly estimated in Brazil, so may be Grivolat has exported the pistol to this country from where its came to Uruguay
