Marcel Seytres

It is doubtless about a gun: Does UNION gauge 7,65 mm (9 cps?) realized by Marcel SEYTRES of Marseilles - whose workshops were in St-Etienne, 17 street Papin - between + 1925 and 1940.

Original markings:

PISTOLET AUTOMATIQUE FRANCAIS

FABRIQUE A StETIENNE - CAL 7,65 mm              "UNION"

From 1933, certain pistols were equipped with a pedal of safety.

As for the grips plate they don’t seem origin, they should carry the mark union, transversely, with the top of a circle representing a head of Indian chief.

Assumption: the dragon could possibly belong to a batch intended for the police force of Shangai (China) where the manufacturer tried to sell weapons of this type (it is not known if the market were concluded)

I am unaware of it why (Re) striking of the letters AOSA S - and their significance.
