TANFOGLIO Umberto
The
weapon was manufactured by Tanfoglio Umberto in 1956.
The small
company, which no longer exists, was located in Gardone Val Trompia (BS).
The
caliber of the weapon is almost certainly .320 revolver, an early black powder
cartridge (as also proven by the hallmarks of the Gardone proofhouse, hallmark
PN = black powder).
The
mechanism of the weapon is based on that of the English revolver of the
1880s-1890s, double action, closed frame, and mechanisms difficult to access.
